Moroccan Man Detained for Attempted Murder of Ex-Girlfriend in Spanish Resort Town

The Torremolinos investigating court ordered the provisional detention on Friday of a 25-year-old Moroccan, arrested for stabbing his ex-girlfriend in Benalmádena.
The detainee, who did not want to testify, is being investigated for attempted murder, according to sources at SUR. The case has been entrusted to the Fuengirola court, which has territorial jurisdiction, as the victim resides in this municipality.
The young woman, aged 18, was stabbed on Tuesday in front of the building where her ex-boyfriend lives in Arroyo de la Miel, Benalmádena. According to sources close to the case, the victim was stabbed more than ten times in the head, neck, abdomen and back by her ex-boyfriend. She was admitted to the regional hospital in critical condition.
The accused and the victim would have had a romantic relationship for nearly two years, before breaking up in January. Since then, the accused would not have stopped harassing the young woman.
