Moroccan Interior Ministry Fires Local Official in Marrakech Corruption Probe

A Caid posted at the administrative annex of Azli, in the Marrakech region, has been dismissed from his duties by the Ministry of the Interior.
This decision follows, according to the authorities, an investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office for his alleged involvement in corruption crimes.
In addition to this suspension, appropriate administrative measures will be taken against the person concerned, in accordance with the laws and regulations in force and in light of the conclusions of the investigation and the judicial procedure, the statement from the ministry also said.
Last year, a Caid in office at the passport service of the prefecture of Sidi Bernoussi (Casablanca) had been arrested for his involvement in a corruption case.
