Moroccan Well Inspector Dies from Asphyxiation in Chefchaouen Province
A sexagenarian died, asphyxiated at the bottom of a deep well, in a douar in the province of Chefchaouen.
The tragedy occurred in the douar Ouslaf of the commune of Bni Rzine, in the province. While he had descended into a deep well to inspect it before completion, a sexagenarian from the province of Errachidia, who worked in the field of well drilling and finishing in the region, died, according to Rue20. The cause of this death was a lack of oxygen at the bottom of the deep well. Rescue attempts to save him were in vain. The drilling worker loses his life on the way to the health center of the commune of Bni Rzine.
Alerted after the incident, the elements of the local authorities and the Royal Gendarmerie arrived in the douar. The deceased was transported to the regional hospital of Chefchaouen. An investigation has been opened to elucidate this tragedy.
