Moroccan Immigrant Killed by Gunshot at Greek-Turkish Border Crossing

Adil Ghazzal, a 30-year-old Moroccan immigrant, died from a gunshot to the head after attempting to cross the Greek-Turkish border to reach Europe.
Originally from Casablanca, the young man had joined Istanbul before traveling thousands of kilometers towards Adrena, his mother recounts, calling on the Moroccan authorities to organize his repatriation so that he can be buried with his loved ones.
The victim had settled in Adrena, on the Greek-Turkish border, with a group of compatriots, before venturing to cross it. A decision that would prove fatal to him; he was shot in the head.
A few weeks ago, the National Democratic Forum for Human Rights had alerted the Ministries of the Interior and Foreign Affairs about the catastrophic situation of Moroccan migrants at the Greek-Turkish border.
Several international media had reported the deplorable situation of thousands of illegal immigrants, including Moroccans, who were subjected to degrading and humiliating practices by the Greek authorities.
