Moroccan Immigrant Alleges Racist Attack by Spanish Security Guards

Arrived in Spain as an unaccompanied minor (MENA), Houssam dreams of being a police officer and plans to work hard to realize this dream after the unfortunate incident he experienced. He had a dispute with a security guard at a cafe-bar. A few hours after the events, he posted the video of the incident on social media.

A member of the Red Cross volunteer team, where he helps other minor migrants, Houssam was prevented from entering Bar Copity by the security guard. "The woman and other security agents threw me to the ground, then hit me," he explains in his complaint, to which he attached two medical reports detailing the injuries he suffered. The Moroccan also indicates that he was handcuffed and immobilized by an agent who spat on him and called him a "fucking Moor, faggot".

Houssam filed an asylum application in December 2020 due to his homosexuality, considered a crime and punished as such in Morocco. He hopes for a favorable response from the Spanish authorities.
