A Moroccan hero honored in Spain

Muhammad Ali, a Moroccan residing in Badalona, in northern Spain, was assaulted by two individuals after preventing them from stealing a woman. The town hall of the city paid tribute to this 20-year-old young man for his heroic gesture.
The events took place in the early morning of September 6, between the streets of Juan Varela and Richard Straus, in the Salut district. As he was cleaning the streets, Muhammad saw two individuals trying to steal a woman. The young man intervened, then asked the woman to remain calm and stay with him until the metro arrived. "She was able to take the metro," he confides during the tribute ceremony organized in his honor by the town hall of Badalona.
The two individuals came back to see the sweeper a short time later, to assault him and threaten him. "One was Moroccan and the other Algerian," he details, adding to be "proud" of his act and aware that if "he had not been there, they would have stolen her." The two delinquents were arrested shortly afterwards thanks to the description provided. "I reacted because my parents taught me to react in case of aggression" and transmitted values that his father admired so much in the boxing legend, Cassius Clay, converted to Islam and renamed Muhammad Ali.
Since his heroic gesture, Muhammad has received many congratulations from his family, his co-workers, the company and the municipal council. The mayor of Badalona, Garcia Albiol, received Muhammad Ali in his office and conveyed the recognition of the city of Badalona for "his commitment and courage."
