Moroccan Goalkeeper Yassine Bounou Joins Sevilla FC on Loan from Relegated Girona

Under contract until 2021 with Girona, relegated to the second division, the Moroccan international goalkeeper has signed, on Sunday, September 1, 2019, with the Andalusian club Sevilla FC, on loan with a purchase option.
Unhappy to play in the 2nd division following the relegation of his team, Girona FC, the Moroccan goalkeeper expressed his desire to leave the squad. Courted by several clubs, his team finally gave the green light to Sevilla FC, who play in La Liga.
Yassine Bounou, 28, thus joins the club to replace the departure of Sergio Rico to PSG. The Atlas Lion returned to the city of Seville on Sunday, September 1, and successfully passed the medical examination. With a release clause with Girona FC, he signed, on loan with a purchase option, with Sevilla FC.
Retained on the list of the new Moroccan coach, Vahid Halilhodzic, the native of Montreal and former Wydad player is expected to join the national team to play the friendly matches against Burkina Faso and Niger on September 6 and 10.
