Morocco’s Bounou Extends Contract with Sevilla, Thwarting Barcelona and Man United Interest

Moroccan goalkeeper Yassine Bounou would have extended his contract with his club, FC Seville. For now, no details have leaked out about the new clauses.
For next season, the Andalusian club does not intend to let its goalkeeper go. According to Estadio Deportivo, Yassine Bounou would have renewed his contract. FC Seville is thus closing any door to a possible transfer during the next summer transfer window, FC Barcelona or Manchester United being very interested in the player.
With two years left on his previous contract, Bounou has established himself in goal, prompting his coach Julen Lopetegui to make him the key piece of the club’s rise. This season, he has conceded only 13 goals in 23 matches he has played. Seville has scored 19 goals in 29 games, six less than its closest rival, Real Madrid.
For the record, Bounou joined Seville on loan from Girona for one year in September 2019 before signing a four-year contract in 2020. The Moroccan currently has a market value of 15 million euros, according to Transfermarkt.
