Moroccan Goalkeeper Tagnaouti Suspended 3 Matches for On-Field Punch

After being sent off in the match that pitted AS FAR against WAC last Thursday, Wydad de Casablanca (WAC) goalkeeper Ahmed Reda Tagnaouti has just been sanctioned by the disciplinary commission of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF).

For a punch given to Lamine Diakité, the AS FAR striker, Ahmed Reda Tagnaouti is sentenced to three matches of suspension and the payment of a fine of 20,000 dirhams in accordance with articles 85 and 76 of the FRMF Disciplinary Code. The match during which the WAC goalkeeper had this criticized gesture took place at the Prince Moulay Abdellah complex as part of the 9th day of the Botola.

For the FRMF Disciplinary Commission, this type of behavior should not be encouraged on the pitches. "The Disciplinary Commission determines the scope, duration, and starting point of any sanction it pronounces. Thus, according to the circumstances of the case, which it appreciates sovereignly, the Disciplinary Commission takes into account mitigating or aggravating circumstances to rule on the case submitted to it and, if necessary, reduce or increase the sanctions appearing in this Code which constitute reference sanctions."

The Disciplinary Commission also fined AS FAR 55,000 dirhams as a penalty for the throwing of bottles onto the pitch by its supporters, and for the use of flares and the invasion of the stadium by one of its supporters. Olympique de Safi must pay 25,000 dirhams for the use of flares. Olympique de Khouribga will also have to pay the bill and pay a fine of 20,000 for the same reasons. Mouloudia d’Oujda also has to pay a fine of 5,000 dirhams for the unacceptable behavior of its supporters.
