Moroccan Gendarme Killed in Hit-and-Run: Second Suspect Arrested in Tangier

Last week, a gendarme was hit head-on by a car he was trying to stop to issue a ticket to the driver. The gendarme died. The driver was arrested. And his accomplice has just been arrested as well.
The driver who was arrested on Wednesday last week provided the investigators with enough information for them to be able to proceed with the arrest of the one who was accompanying him in the car. This was done last Friday.
Indeed, the accomplice was arrested in downtown Tangier, according to Noonpresse. The media specifies that arrest warrants had been issued against the two men, which prompted them to try to flee when the gendarme attempted to arrest them for a simple speeding offense. They also have extensive criminal records.
It should be noted that this tragedy occurred about two weeks ago, near the village of Sidi Kankouch, between Tangier and Ksar Sghir. And that the driver and his accomplice had quickly left the scene before being arrested on Wednesday and Friday respectively. The gendarme was operating the radar to record speeding offenses.
