Suspected Drug Trafficker Arrested in Fatal Tangier Motorcycle Parade Crash
A man has just been arrested in Tangier. He is the one who, in a light vehicle, had hit five motorcycles participating in a parade and caused the death of two Moroccan motorcyclists as well as injuries to five others, including a Spaniard residing in Ceuta.
Spanish media claimed that it was probably an illegal taxi driver. But in fact it is more complex than that. According to Tanja24, he was driving without insurance or vehicle documents and is a notorious criminal known to the police for involvement in drug trafficking and illegal immigration. He is also nicknamed Al Bahr (the sea).
He was arrested, on Monday, in a clinic where he had gone to be treated (because of the same accident) according to the same source. The accident occurred on Saturday. He was taken into custody and the investigation continues to identify the passengers who accompanied him and to arrest them as well.
It should be recalled that a video of this terrible accident caused an uproar on social media and showed a car driving at an absolutely dizzying speed crashing straight into a gathering of 70 motorcycles. One of the motorcycles caught fire. Its driver died on the spot. And another motorcyclist died later from his injuries.
