Moroccan Gang Rape Case: Two More Suspects Arrested in Salé Family Assault

The investigation by the gendarmes has led to new revelations about the case of torture and gang rape suffered by a family consisting of a widow and her four daughters in Bouknadel, near Salé. After the arrest of four suspects, two other suspects have been apprehended.

Before they were attacked, the members of this family had filed several complaints with the gendarmerie authorities. They were demanding protection against threats from a criminal gang who had promised to settle the score with them. The investigation, which lasted several months, led to the arrest of four accused persons, all with criminal records. After subjecting them to thorough investigations, the gendarmes managed to identify several suspects still at large, reports the daily Al Akhbar.

The facts date back several months. The sexagenarian widow and her four daughters had been violently attacked by a criminal gang of five members. They broke into their home around 2 a.m. Masked and armed with sabers and knives, they assaulted the woman and two of her daughters before kidnapping, under threat of bladed weapons, her two other daughters to take them to an isolated place. It was there that the youngest daughter was raped by four of the criminals, while her sister was sexually assaulted and tortured with a bladed weapon.

Given the violence of the crime widely denounced on social networks, sources close to the investigation do not rule out an act of revenge. One of the defendants reportedly confessed that they had been paid by a woman to attack this family. An unresolved old conflict would be at the root of this request. During her hearing, the woman acknowledged having a dispute with the victims, but claims not to have requested such an attack and denies any connection with the members of the criminal gang.
