Moroccan Foreign Investment Surges: France Tops List with $140 Million Inflow

In 2021, France was the main destination for the net flows of Moroccan direct investments abroad (IDME), with 1.4 billion dirhams (MMDH), according to the Office des Changes.
Despite the difficult geopolitical and economic context, more and more Moroccan companies have invested outside the Kingdom. Where are Moroccan investments abroad?
The Office in its annual report on the balance of payments and global external position of Morocco states that the Hexagon is the main destination for the net flows of these investments with 1.4 billion dirhams (MMDH).
In addition to France, Côte d’Ivoire (1.2 billion DH), the United States (0.5 billion DH), Egypt (0.5 billion DH) and Nigeria (0.5 billion DH) form the top 5 of this ranking, the same source points out. By region, Africa is the main destination for these investments, with a share of 58.1% in 2021 against 58.5% in 2020 and 57.7% in 2019, it is specified.
