Moroccan Foreign Investment Surges to $428 Million, France Remains Top Destination

In 2022, France maintained its rank as the top destination for Moroccan direct investment abroad (IDME). As of the end of September last year, the net flow of these investments reached 1.17 billion dirhams.
Despite a difficult economic context, investments by Moroccan companies outside the Kingdom are on the rise, reaching 4.28 billion dirhams over the first 9 months of 2022, reports Aujourd’hui Le Maroc.
The Hexagon remains the main destination for the net flows of these investments with 1.17 billion dirhams (MMDH), down compared to 2021, when it was around 1.45 billion, notes the newspaper.
In addition to France, the Netherlands with 534 million dirhams and Senegal with 409 million dirhams form the top 3 of this ranking.
By sector, industry is in the lead, with an investment of 1.86 billion dirhams against 2.09 billion in 2022. There is also a flow of 173 million dirhams in real estate activity and 53 million in the construction sector.
