The Botola is ranked 3rd best football championship in Africa in 2021 and 30th worldwide, thus gaining 3 places compared to the previous year.
According to the ranking published by the International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS), the Moroccan football championship is in the top 3 on the continent, ranking behind Egypt and Algeria.
The global ranking is dominated by Brazil, which has stolen the show from Italy.
Based in Lausanne, the IFFHS is renowned for its multiple rankings of clubs and personalities in the world of football, including its global ranking of football clubs.
