Two Moroccan players, Hakim Ziyech and Ilias Chair, have been shortlisted to receive the prestigious London Football Awards 2022 on March 3, which celebrates the best of London football.
The two Moroccans have been selected for their sensational form, through their goals and their contributions to raising their respective teams. Ziyech is nominated in the category of best goal, while Chair can finish as the best player in the English League, reports SRNT News.
The Chelsea midfielder is nominated for his goal against Tottenham (2-0), on a sublime curled left-footed shot, on January 23, during the 24th round of the Premier League. He is competing with Conor Gallagher (Crystal Palace), Andre Gray (QPR), Sam Kerr (Chelsea Women) and his teammate Mateo Kovačić.
For his part, Queens Park Rangers midfielder Ilias Chair is in the running for the "Best English League Player" (D2) award. He is competing with his teammate Chris Willock and the Fulham trio, Aleksandar Mitrovic, Neeskens Kebano and Harry Wilson.
In addition to these two awards, other categories are planned. These are: best Premier League player, best goalkeeper, best coach, best contribution to London football, best player of the year, best prospect (female and male) and best community project of the year.
