A Moroccan Expatriate Killed in Saïdia, Two Franco-Moroccans Caught at the Border

The two men, aged 31 and 34, were arrested on Tuesday evening by police at the Beni Ansar border crossing, near Nador, in coordination with Saïdia’s security services. They are suspected of involvement in violence resulting in a death, reports Ahdath.info.

According to the initial findings of the investigation, a dispute broke out in the early hours of Tuesday between two groups as they were leaving the Marina de Saïdia car park. The confrontation reportedly left four Moroccan expatriates injured. One of them, seriously wounded, died after being transferred to hospital. The other three received treatment before leaving the facility.

The investigation quickly led police to the two Franco-Moroccans. They were arrested as they attempted to leave Moroccan territory in a car bearing French license plates. Investigators suspect that they took part in the violence along with two other people.

Two other suspects sought

The two men were placed in police custody as part of the investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office. Searches are continuing to identify and arrest the two other suspects who allegedly accompanied the arrested individuals at the time of the incident.

The tragedy also had consequences for the establishment around which the evening allegedly turned violent. The authorities in Saïdia decided to temporarily close Le Royce club. Videos showing part of the events are currently being examined by the security services in order to reconstruct the course of the confrontation.

The investigation must now determine each person’s exact role. Less than twenty-four hours after the violence that claimed the life of a Moroccan expatriate, two suspects were therefore intercepted in Beni Ansar, while searches continue to find the two other people suspected of taking part in the confrontation.
