Moroccan Drug Lord Nadori Arrested in Dubai After Cocaine Conviction

The 38-year-old man was arrested Thursday by Dubai police while he was at the Mall of the Emirates. Najim “Troy” E.M., also of Moroccan origin and wanted by Belgian justice, was arrested at the same time.

In May, the Antwerp court sentenced “Nadori” in absentia to twelve years in prison, a 96 000-euro fine and the confiscation of five million euros. Justice considers him the leader of an organization that imported at least 840 kilos of cocaine in 2020, reports Het Nieuwsblad.

Deciphered Sky ECC messages showed that he coordinated operations from Dubai. Associates managed the goods from a building in Borgerhout equipped with cameras, allowing him to monitor their activities remotely.

Seventeen years in prison await him

“Nadori” has long been known in Antwerp’s drug underworld. His name was notably linked to the “Turtles,” a group involved in the theft of a cocaine shipment in 2012 and the violence that followed.

He was also sentenced to five years in prison in 2022 in the case involving the “Mixers” network. His two latest convictions amount to a total of seventeen years in prison handed down in his absence.

However, a swift extradition to Belgium is not guaranteed. The exact reasons for his arrest have not yet been disclosed, and the authorities have not confirmed that it was carried out at Brussels’ request. If handed over to Belgium, “Nadori” will be able to challenge the convictions handed down in absentia.
