A Moroccan Drone Attack Injures Several Polisario Members
Four "civilian vehicles registered in Mauritania" were the target of strikes by Moroccan military drones. Several people are said to have been injured.
According to media sources close to the Polisario, this would be an "atrocious massacre" perpetrated against civilians. The vehicles were transporting gold miners and were traveling near Aguenit, heading towards Fdérik, in Mauritania.
While the passengers of three vehicles emerged unscathed from the attack, the fourth vehicle, which was isolated, was found in flames. The fate of its occupants remains unknown, the same sources said.
This event is part of a context of growing tensions between Morocco and the Polisario. In recent months, Moroccan drone attacks would have caused several deaths in the region. These attacks have never been confirmed by the Moroccan side.
