Moroccan Dirham Gains Against Euro May 2026
The Moroccan dirham appreciated by 0.8 % against the euro and by 0.1 % against the US dollar during the period from May 7 to 13, 2026, according to Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM).
During this period, no auction operations were carried out on the foreign exchange market, according to the Moroccan central bank in its recent weekly indicators bulletin.

On May 8, official reserve assets stood at 468.6 billion dirhams (MMDH, down 0.2 % week-on-week and up 17.7 % year-on-year.
During the period from May 7 to 13, 2026, the volume of BAM interventions stood at 155.5 MMDH on average daily. It is divided between 7-day advances totaling 55.4 MMDH, longer-term repurchase agreements for 50.3 MMDH as well as guaranteed loans for 49.7 MMDH.
During the period from May 7 to 13, 2026, the MASI declined by 0.2 %, BAM further indicates.

As for the weekly trading volume, it fell from one week to the next from 934 MDH to 1.4 MMDH, distributed mainly on the central equity market.
