Moroccan Dirham Strengthens Euro Exchange Rate 2026

The Moroccan dirham appreciated by 0.1% against the euro and by 0.7% versus the US dollar between April 30 and May 6, 2026, according to figures published by Bank Al-Maghrib.

On the foreign exchange market, no auction operations were carried out during this period. Official foreign exchange reserves reached 469.8 billion dirhams on April 30, up 0.2% over one week and 20.3% year-on-year, according to Morocco’s central bank.

Bank Al-Maghrib interventions totaled 150.3 billion dirhams in average daily volume, distributed among 7-day advances, repurchase agreements and guaranteed loans. On the interbank market, average daily volume stood at 2.5 billion dirhams.

At the Casablanca Stock Exchange, the MASI advanced 1.3% over the period, driven notably by the banking, construction, telecommunications and transport sectors, with an annual performance of 0.5%.
