The Moroccan dirham falls against the euro
The Moroccan dirham depreciated by 0.5% against the euro and 0.8% against the US dollar during the period from March 5 to 11, according to Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM).
During this period, no auction operation was carried out on the foreign exchange market, the Moroccan central bank said in its recent weekly indicator bulletin.
The official reserve assets stood at 461.3 billion dirhams (MMDH) on March 6, down 0.2% from the previous week and up 25.8% year-on-year.
Regarding Bank Al-Maghrib’s interventions, they totaled an average of 153.4 MMDH per day during the period from March 5 to 11, 2026. This volume is divided between 7-day advances for an amount of 56.4 MMDH, longer-term repurchase agreements (55.1 MMDH) and guaranteed loans (41.9 MMDH).
In the interbank market, the average daily trading volume was 3.8 MMDH and the interbank rate stood at 2.25%.
On the stock market, the MASI gained 3% from March 5 to 11, reducing its underperformance since the beginning of the year to 9%.
