The Moroccan dirham slightly declines against the euro
The Moroccan dirham appreciated by 0.5% against the US dollar and depreciated by 0.1% against the euro during the week of December 18 to 24, 2025, according to Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM).
During this period, no auction operation was carried out on the foreign exchange market, the central bank indicates in its recent weekly indicators bulletin.
As for the official reserve assets, they stood at 438.2 billion dirhams (MMDH) as of December 19, up 0.5% from the previous week and 17.4% year-on-year, the same source said.
Regarding BAM’s interventions, their volume amounted to an average of 157.4 MMDH per day, divided between 7-day advances (67.5 MMDH), longer-term repurchase agreements (51.4 MMDH) and guaranteed loans (38.5 MMDH).
On the stock market side, the MASI appreciated by 0.8% between December 18 and 24, bringing its performance since the beginning of the year to 28.1%.
