Moroccan diesel prices drop 50 cents June 2024
From Monday, June 1st at 00:01, the price of diesel per liter should drop by around fifty cents at petrol stations across the Kingdom. The price of petrol, however, remains completely unchanged.
This price reduction comes after a month of May marked by numerous changes at the pump. Operators had first applied a sharp drop in prices at the beginning of the month, before raising the petrol price by 50 cents on May 16th. With this new adjustment, the liter of diesel will now be set at around 13.97 dirhams depending on the region, compared to approximately 14.50 dirhams until now. Motorists using petrol will continue to pay for their fuel at the unchanged price of approximately 14.55 dirhams per liter.

This boost provides direct relief to road transporters, farmers and businesses whose activities depend on logistics. Although prices remain higher than before the energy crisis of recent years, this respite is still welcome for users’ budgets. Distributors remind that this change aligns with fluctuations in crude oil prices and global supply costs, still subject to strong international geopolitical uncertainties.
