Morocco petrol prices surge 50 cents per liter
Moroccan motorists are facing another tough blow. The price of petrol is experiencing a sharp increase this Saturday, partially erasing recent declines. The price of diesel remains stable for now.
The calm will have been particularly brief for drivers. Tonight, oil companies applied a fifty-cent increase on each liter of unleaded petrol. In stations in central Casablanca, petrol is climbing to around 14.90 dirhams, compared to 14.40 dirhams at the previous pricing.

This price revision erases much of the relief granted on May 1st. On that date, distributors had brought bills below the symbolic fifteen-dirham threshold, reducing the bill by 1.10 dirhams for this specific fuel.

On the diesel side, the commercial situation remains unchanged for now with an amount displayed around 14.50 dirhams per liter, thus maintaining the benefit of the one-dirham discount granted at the beginning of the month. Despite this relative stability on diesel, the rebound in pump costs is reviving strong concerns about purchasing power.
