Moroccan PM Denounces Pegasus Spyware Allegations as Attack on National Stability

The head of the Moroccan government spoke out on the Pegasus affair during a television program. El Othmani denounced the organizations Forbidden Stories, Amnesty International and the media consortium publisher of the controversial study on the Pegasus software, which, according to him, are targeting Morocco.
The Moroccan Prime Minister denounced during his intervention the relentlessness of the organizations Forbidden Stories and Amnesty International and the media campaign maintained by media outlets around the world, which relied on disputed documents provided by Amnesty International to implicate the Moroccan intelligence services, without any conclusive evidence.
Me Olivier Baratelli, the lawyer defending Morocco’s cause in this case of listening and spying, had deplored a "media trial, unfounded and clearly fabricated to destabilize the deep diplomatic relationship between Morocco and France".
For its part, the Moroccan public prosecutor’s office announced the opening of a judicial investigation, considering that the press information includes "serious accusations and allegations" that "harm the highest interests of the kingdom". The Moroccan government, for its part, accuses the media of "hateful attacks" regarding the treatment of the Pegasus case.
Categorically rejecting these "false and unfounded allegations" again, the head of government indicates that Morocco prefers to turn to justice against any party taking up these fallacious allegations.
