Moroccan Court Sentences Adulterous Couple to Prison in Youssoufia Affair

While her husband is still serving his sentence in prison, a young woman has chosen to listen to her heart by betraying him, in an abandoned hideout in the city of Youssoufia, with an individual with a long criminal record.
The two lovers, who were intoxicated at the time of their arrest, were caught in the act by elements of the national brigade of the judicial police, following an alert from the woman’s brother-in-law.
Before surrendering to the investigators and acknowledging the charges against him, the 32-year-old individual, who was on the run, had tried to deny everything.
The two defendants were sentenced to 14 months in prison by the court of first instance of Youssoufia, for extramarital relations, public drunkenness and violation of the state of emergency.
