Moroccan Celebrity Trial in ’Hamza mon bb’ Blackmail Case Postponed to October

The Hamza mon bb saga is far from over. The appeal trial of Dounia Batma, her sister Ibtissam and stylist Aicha Ayach, scheduled for this Wednesday, has been postponed to October 7.
The hearing, which was held by videoconference, was marked by the absence of the accused, who are being held in the Oudayas prison. The Court of Appeal of Marrakech justified the postponement by the summoning of the rest of the defense of the accused and the civil parties.
Although the appearance of the detainees is not automatic on appeal, the judge nevertheless accepted the request of their lawyers, who had requested their presence at the next hearing.
Dounia Batma and her sister Ibtissam had been sentenced to 8 months and 12 months in prison respectively. The stylist, on the other hand, had received a heavier sentence of 18 months in prison.
