Moroccan Catering Industry Urges Easing of COVID Restrictions for Holiday Events

Long affected by the health crisis, catering professionals have called for the resumption of events and the increase in the capacity of venues during the holidays.
Taking advantage of the improvement in the health situation and especially the imposition of the health pass to return to normal life, the professionals gathered within the Moroccan Federation of Caterers (FMT) held a session to make demands to the authorities.
On this occasion, they recalled the data from the Ministry of Health indicating that Morocco has reached a green level of vigilance, with a stable low transmission rate, estimated between 0.7% and 0.8%, the progress of the vaccination campaign, and the decision of the authorities to condition access to public establishments on the presentation of the vaccination pass.
Based on these data and measures, the players have requested an increase in the reception capacity of event halls and allow all event halls to resume their activities, in accordance with the content of the government press release issued on September 30, 2021.
