Moroccan Breeder Arrested for Using Poultry Waste to Fatten Eid al-Adha Sheep

A breeder was apprehended in the province of Rehamna this Friday, while 12 tons of poultry manure he was using to feed the livestock were seized by elements of the Royal Gendarmerie.
A few days before the Eid Al-Adha festival, all means are used by unscrupulous breeders to fatten their animals. This is how intense control operations are being carried out these days at the level of livestock breeding farms to detect and punish all offenders.
According to a statement from the Division of Economic Affairs and Coordination of the prefecture of the province of Rehamna, one of these operations made it possible to seize a large quantity of poultry manure used in the feeding of livestock by a breeder in the Tamghart douar under the Jeâfra Commune.
Immediately alerted, the veterinary services of the National Office of Sanitary Safety of Food Products (ONSSA) proceeded, in coordination with the provincial authorities, to seize this quantity of around 12 tons.
Once the legal procedures were initiated in the presence of the local authorities and elements of the Royal Gendarmerie, the entire quantity of manure was destroyed while 73 heads of livestock were seized as a precautionary measure. In addition, a report was drawn up against the offender.
