Moroccan Beach Earns Prestigious "Blue Flag" Environmental Award

The joint efforts of local stakeholders have enabled the Nations Beach to win the "Blue Flag", a trophy awarded by the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection and the Foundation for Education and the Environment.

This flag, hoisted for the first time at the entrance to the Nations Beach in the urban commune of Boukdanel, is a source of pride for the local authorities and the summer visitors of this coastline, reports 2M. For Reda Alioua, president of the Green Horizon Association for Sustainable Development, it is a matter of celebrating today the award of the 2020 Blue Flag to this beach, especially after the effort made to give it its own imprint.

Delighted with this distinction, Abdessamad Zamzani, president of the urban commune of Sidi Boukdanel, considers the award of the Blue Flag an honor for his city. In this regard, he recalled that it will have to be maintained through the maintenance of hygiene and sports and cultural activities.

According to the same media, bathers can find, at the entrance of the beach, cultural and sports workshops. Masks and disinfectants are also available to ensure the safety of summer visitors on the beaches. According to the artistic director of the coastal entertainment village, the Nations Beach has won this trophy thanks to the recycling activity.

As for one of the regular summer visitors to this beach, the happiness is quite great to discover this flag, floating at the entrance of the beach, which is always clean and secure.
