Dakhla’s Oum Labouir Beach Earns 9th Consecutive Blue Flag for Cleanliness

The Oum Labouir beach (near Dakhla) once again receives the distinction of the "Clean Beaches" program awarded by the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection and the International Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE).
For the 9th consecutive time, this seaside resort is awarded the "Blue Flag" label. A distinction that comes "to reward the collective and sustained efforts deployed by the territorial commune of Dakhla and several partners at different levels" in order to preserve the cleanliness of the beach and ensure the quality of its bathing waters. It must be said that the local authorities are tirelessly carrying out actions with the population, regularly raising awareness on the need to protect the environment, maintain hygiene and safety, as well as "the development and management of beaches", reports 2M.ma.
According to the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection, the "Blue Flag" label was awarded this year to 26 beaches and the Saïdia marina which "offer the security that vacationers need to relax after more than three months of health confinement". In addition to the quality of the bathing waters, these 26 beaches out of the 39 that applied have met the demanding criteria of the program, indicates the same source.
