Moroccan Bakers Warn of Potential Bread Price Hike Amid Rising Costs

The rise in prices of products used in the manufacture of bread and its derivatives is increasingly worrying Moroccan bakers. They even plan to raise the price of bread due to this situation, which adds to the impacts of the health crisis.
The price of bread may increase in the coming days if nothing is done, threaten the members of the Moroccan Federation of Bakeries and Pastries (FMBP) due to the considerable increase in the prices of several products used in the manufacture of bread for nearly five months, reports Al Massae.
More surprisingly, denounce the professionals in a press release, the National Federation of Cereal and Legume Traders (FIAC) remains indifferent to this situation characterized by the frequency of price increases of important products used in the manufacture of bread, explains the newspaper. Moreover, this price increase is not justified by the services concerned, is surprised the FMBP which accuses the latter of taking advantage of the electoral period to discreetly increase the prices of products.
Faced with this situation which leads to the bankruptcy and over-indebtedness of bakeries, or even the dismissal of workers, the FMBP warns that it will take the necessary measures to get the sector out of the black, even if it means raising the prices of bread and its derivatives.
