Moroccan Authorities Seize 5 Tons of Cannabis in Major Drug Bust Near Larache

Elements of the Royal Gendarmerie Army and the Royal Navy intercepted four people with 5 tons of cannabis resin in Larache on Friday, February 7.
The lightning operation, carried out in the province of Larache against drug traffickers, made it possible to thwart this international drug trafficking. According to Le360, it was successful thanks to the joint efforts of the army, including the Royal Navy, with the support of the Royal Gendarmerie, in the rural commune of Laâouamra, near Larache.
Starting with a chase on the highway, it ended at sea with the seizure of a large vehicle, three zodiacs, five tons of drugs divided into some 182 bales, and the arrest of the four individuals.
The investigation, opened in the context of this case, is currently ongoing, under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office.
