Moroccan Authorities Incinerate Over 14 Tons of Seized Drugs Near Tangier

More than 14 tons of drugs have been destroyed in the vicinity of Tangier. These are the drugs seized during this year, during several operations carried out by the public forces.
The destruction operation was carried out by the regional customs directorate, in the presence of a specialized commission composed of public and local authorities. According to the customs and indirect taxes officer in Tangier, Abdelghani Seghiri, quoted by the Map, the value of this quantity of incinerated drugs and psychotropics exceeds 10 million dirhams.
They were seized during operations carried out by customs elements, the Royal Gendarmerie and the National Security in the fight against international drug trafficking through organized transnational crime networks.
In detail, it is more than 13.698 tons of cannabis resin and hashish, 150 kilograms of cannabis stems, 16 kg of powdered tobacco, 1.2 kg of cocaine, 105 grams of heroin, more than 78,000 psychotropic tablets and 60 kg of hookah tobacco (maâssel), in addition to 439 boxes of tobacco and 2,407 glue tubes.
