Moroccan Customs Destroys Over 2 Tons of Cannabis and Contraband in Dakhla

The Southern Inter-Regional Customs Directorate proceeded to incinerate a large quantity of drugs, including 2.33 tons of cannabis resin, and several other illicit and contraband products. The destruction of these narcotics took place in Dakhla.
In addition to the large quantity of chira, 24.197 tons of scented tobacco, 449,628 packs of cigarettes and 30.5 kg of powdered tobacco were also destroyed. The incineration took place at the Dakhla-Al Argoub (Oued Eddahab province) inter-municipal controlled landfill.
According to the authorities, 54 psychotropic tablets, 255 grams of cannabis (Kif) and 4.15 grams of cocaine were part of the lot incinerated in the presence of representatives of the local authorities and the various security services, under the control of the competent prosecutor’s office, reports the MAP.
These destroyed products were seized over the past three months and are part of the efforts made by the competent services in the fight against international drug trafficking and smuggling, the same source indicates.
