Moroccan Authorities Bust All-Female Drug Ring in Meknes, Seize Thousands of Pills

The elements of the DGSN in coordination with the services of the DGST succeeded in dismantling in Meknes a female drug trafficking gang that was about to flood the local market with a large quantity of psychotropic tablets.
In total, three traffickers aged 23 to 34, members of a psychotropic trafficking network, were arrested on Friday, July 15 by members of the anti-gang brigade of the judicial police services in Meknes, and this, with the collaboration of the DGST services, reports the Arabic-language daily Al Akhbar. The arrest of the first woman member of this network took place in Meknes. She had just gotten off a bus. She had in her possession 3,240 psychotropic tablets, including 2,400 of the Rivotril type and 840 Ecstasy tablets.
In the wake, the members of the anti-gang brigade arrested two other women who would be the dealers of the person in custody. They would have been responsible for selling the goods on the local market. The investigators found about 53,000 dirhams on one of them. Pending the conclusion of the investigation ordered by the public prosecutor’s office, the three persons in custody have been placed in pre-trial detention.
