Former Soldier Turned Taxi Driver Arrested for Drug Trafficking in Salé, Morocco

A former soldier who became a taxi driver in Salé was arrested by the judicial police of the Laâyayda district. Pending the opening of his trial next week, he has been detained for drug trafficking.
The judicial police of the Laâyayda district arrested the retired soldier who had become a drug dealer last week. This arrest follows that of a young consumer in possession of psychotropic tablets who provided useful information to the investigators who managed to identify and locate the former soldier. After his arrest, he was taken into custody.

Subjected to questioning as part of the investigation opened under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, the accused confessed. To sell the goods, he criss-crosses the boulevards and streets of the Laâyayda area. The drug dealer did not fail to denounce his supplier. Currently, the latter is actively being sought by the police.
Continuing the investigations, the investigators summoned the holder of the taxi license. He acknowledged that the former soldier, who has a trust permit, has been renting his taxi for several months. After being brought before the competent public prosecutor’s office, he was placed in detention. His trial will open next week.
