Moroccan Authorities Arrest Unlicensed Practitioner Who Treated Thousands Over 10 Years

Accused of having "treated" without prior registration with the Order of Physicians thousands of patients in Sidi Slimane and also in Sidi Kacem for ten years, a man was arrested and then placed in custody.
The fake doctor was the subject of a complaint filed by the Regional Council of the Order of Physicians of the Gharb region. This man, who had pursued his medical studies for seven years but failed to defend his doctoral thesis, opened his medical practice in Sidi Slimane between 2013 and 2015, then in Sidi Kacem, where he practiced without the required qualifications, without a permit and without prior registration with the Order of Physicians for 8 years, reports the Arabic-language daily Assabah. He is accused of having falsified "the thesis of one of his classmates, by affixing his name to it, in order to mislead the administrative authorities." In 10 years, he examined thousands of patients.
On Thursday, during a search carried out in his "office" in Sidi Kacem, the fake doctor was arrested and then placed in custody under the supervision of the public prosecutor, at the court of first instance in this city. On Saturday, the prosecution extended the custody period of the accused in order to deepen the investigation. It is not excluded that several administrative officials will be summoned and heard as part of this investigation. A former official at the Regional Council of the Order of Physicians of the Gharb region is also suspected of having supported the case of the accused.
