Sidi Kacem Official Investigated for Alleged Corruption in Public Property Conversion
Targeted by a complaint for forming a criminal organization, falsifying official documents and using them, embezzlement of public funds and complicity, the president of the provincial council of Sidi Kacem, Ben Aïssa Ben Zroual, is being questioned as part of a case involving the transformation of a social complex into a hotel belonging to private individuals.
Four months later, where is the investigation into the transformation of a social complex under the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH) into a classified hotel? Complying with the instructions of the Attorney General at the Rabat Court of Appeal, the elements of the National Brigade of the Judicial Police heard last Thursday the president of the provincial council of Sidi Kacem, Benaïssa Benzeroual. This was followed by a descent of the elements of the National Brigade in the city to deepen the investigation and summon an official and a doctor from the public health service, another official from the professional licenses department, as well as an official from the technical department, in order to question them next week.
The whole thing started with a complaint for forming a criminal organization, falsifying official documents and using them, embezzlement of public funds and complicity, filed with the Attorney General of the King at the Rabat Court of Appeal, in the Department of Financial Crimes, under number 16/3123/2024, against the president of the municipal council of Sidi Kacem, a deputy and the president of the provincial council. Following the receipt of this complaint, the Attorney General at the Rabat Court of Appeal had ordered the confiscation of the passports of the three elected officials with a ban on leaving the territory against them before lifting this measure for the president of the provincial council and his brother while maintaining it for the main accused.
