Moroccan Anti-Israel Activist Jailed After Confrontation Over Palestinian Dates

The President of the Moroccan Observatory against Normalization with Israel and Coordinator of the Imazighen League for Palestine, Ahmed Ouihmane, was convicted of "violence against a public official".
According to the account of the facts, Ouihmane caused an incident in front of the date stand from the Israeli settlements located in the occupied Palestinian territories.
His dispute with a police officer ended up in court. Thus, he was sentenced to one month in prison and a fine of 2,000 dirhams for "violence against a public official".
The events took place on the sidelines of the 10th edition of the Moroccan International Date Fair (Sidattes) 2019, which was opened on Thursday, October 24 in Erfoud.
