Moroccan Air Force Heroically Rescues French Sailors in Dramatic Sea Operation off Agadir Coast

A helicopter from the Royal Moroccan Air Force carried out the rescue of two French citizens on the evening of Thursday, July 17, 2025. They were in distress off the coast of the city of Agadir.
The two individuals were sailing on a sailboat flying the French flag when they encountered difficulties in Moroccan territorial waters. Facing the risk of drowning, they issued a distress call.
This call triggered a coordinated search operation involving several entities. A vessel from the Maritime Fisheries Delegation in Agadir and an aircraft from the Royal Gendarmerie began combing the area.
