Moroccan Actress Denies Adultery Charges as Investigation Deepens

This case, which was revealed by the daily Assabah and is far from having revealed all its secrets. Indeed, questioned by the representative of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the actress Najate El Ouafi, since it is she, rather evoked strictly professional reasons to justify her meeting with the director Saïd Khalaf, in this apartment, located in the Gauthier district, in Casablanca.

Returning to this controversial file, the daily Assabah reports that the two accused appeared before the Prosecutor on Thursday morning, July 11, after being summoned the day before to the headquarters of the Judicial Police of Anfa. Najate El Ouafi and Saïd Khalaf were consistent in their statements, claiming that they had spent the night in the same apartment where they were apprehended, to "discuss an artistic project".

For his part, the actress’s husband, who has been living in the United States where he has been married to Najate El Ouafi for two years, claims that she had pretexted a business trip to return to Morocco. However, being convinced of the contrary, the man has, on his side, undertaken "to gather evidence of adultery, with the complicity of one of his friends in Morocco", details Assabah. This personal approach of the husband, carried out without his wife’s knowledge, has made it possible, according to the same source, to gather "about sixty photos that prove that his wife had a love affair with the producer in question, with whom she would have spent several nights in an apartment rented in the Gauthier district". Worse, according to the husband, "the two lovers presented themselves to the neighbors of the building, as well as to the concierge, as a married couple".

After hearing the two accused, the representative of the Public Prosecutor’s Office decided to return the file to the Judicial Police to deepen the investigation, for lack of convincing elements attesting to the adultery with which they are charged, notes the daily, which, from now on, does not rule out the scientific track, for the continuation of the investigation.
