Momo from Hit Radio at the heart of a police investigation following a controversial sequence

The Casablanca police are conducting an investigation into a sequence involving Hit Radio host Mohamed Bousfiha, alias Momo, where one of his listeners claims to have been the victim of a theft. One person has already been arrested by the investigators.
A video sequence from Hit Radio at the origin of legal troubles. While Momo was hosting his show, a listener who was participating live claimed to have been the victim of a phone theft. The thief was on a motorcycle. Calling the show a few minutes later to share his alleged "misadventure" on the airwaves, the listener recounted that the theft took place while he was in his car, on the way to the Ouled Ziane road in Casablanca, reports H24info. Touched by his account, Momo offered the listener to come to the radio station’s premises in Rabat to give him a new phone. But Momo will be accused of having orchestrated a staging to boost the show’s audience, the video sequence having accumulated nearly a million views.
"The security services of the city reacted very seriously to a telephone call received by a private radio station, mentioning the circumstances of an alleged theft and the alleged inaction of the security services," the authorities said in a statement. According to them, the statements broadcast on the airwaves of Hit Radio "undermine the sense of security of citizens, and insult an organized body by making false statements." The video passage prompted the judicial police of Casablanca to open an investigation into this case.
The preliminary investigation reveals that the listener usurped a false identity, and reported a false theft with the participation of a third party. The allegations that he filed a complaint are also false. The only certainty: he received a new phone. The accomplice who played the role of the thief, a repeat offender known to the police for fraud cases, was arrested by the Casablanca police.
