Moroccan Radio Host Sentenced to Prison for On-Air Prank Gone Wrong

Bad news for the Hit Radio host Mohamed Bousfiha, alias Momo, accused of having intentionally disclosed false information on the air. The criminal chamber of the court of first instance of Aïn Sebaa sentenced him to four months in prison.
In addition to Momo, the two other individuals prosecuted for fabricating a fictitious crime were also convicted by the criminal chamber of the court of first instance of Aïn Sebaa. Considered the mastermind of the offense, Amine was sentenced to five months in prison. As for Mustapha, he was sentenced to three months in prison.
It all started with Momo’s live announcement of a snatching during the "Momo Ramadan Show" program. This theft was not one, as the authorities discovered that it was just a prank. This led to the opening of an investigation for "denunciation of an imaginary crime", "dissemination of false information through computer systems" and "contempt of a constituted body".
