Mohamed Katir Advances to 1,500m Semifinals at World Athletics Championships

The Spanish-born Moroccan Mohamed Katir qualified on Saturday for the 1,500 meters event of the ongoing World Cup in Eugene (Oregon, United States).
The defending champion, the Norwegian Jakob Ingebrigtsen, finished third in the competition with a time of 3:35.12. The Spaniard Mario García finished fifth with a time of 3:35.43 and also qualified for the semi-final scheduled for Sunday, as did the Moroccan-born Mohamed Katir, who finished sixth with a time of 3:39.45.
The Spaniard Ignacio Fontes, fifth in the race with a time of 3:36.69, and the Uruguayan Santiago Catrofe, who finished seventh with a time of 3:35.86, also qualified for the semi-final.
