Spanish Star Mohamed Katir Sets World-Leading Time in Indoor 1500m Race

The Spanish athlete of Moroccan origin Mohamed Katir won the 1,500m indoor race at the Val-de-Reuil (France) tournament on Saturday with a time of 3:35.48. The world’s best performance of the year.
Mohamed Katir remained in the lead of the race until the end, far ahead of the other athletes. With a time of 3:35.48, he beats the record of the year held only last week by the Briton George Mills (3:35.88).
Algerian Salim Keddar is second in the race, ahead of Spaniard Álvaro de Arriba who finished eighth with a time of 3:41.97. For the record, Mohamed Katir is the 3rd best in the world in the 1,500m outdoor, a title he obtained last year in Eugene, United States.
