Mohamed Katir is preparing for the next European Championships in Munich. His goal is to win a medal in the 1,500 and 3,000 meters at this competition and to win the world title in the 1,500 meters or the 5,000 meters.
"I get up at 8:40 am. I eat, I take a nap and in the afternoon I run again. Now I don’t do many kilometers anymore...", he explains in an interview with Sport. The triple Spanish record holder is mentally ready for all competitions. "I have a stronger mentality than before, I have confidence in myself and I’m afraid of no one. If I’m on the track, it’s always to try to win and give a hundred percent," he assures.
Katir insisted that he is Spanish, even though he is of Moroccan origin. "I feel Spanish, I’ve been here all my life, even though I was born in Morocco. I don’t care what people say that I wasn’t born here or that I don’t have to take the flag. The one who runs is me, not someone else. If I represent a country, it’s because I’m proud," he said.
