Missing 13-Year-Old Girl Found Dead in Moroccan Cave, Shocking Local Community

While her loved ones were hoping to find her safe and sound, the little Ibitissam, aged 13, who disappeared on February 22 in Foum Zguid, in the province of Tata, was found dead in a cave last Friday. The inhabitants of the Tlit region, which falls under Foum Zguid in Tata, are shocked by this tragedy, which brings back the issue of the protection and safety of children.
The newspaper Al Akhbar reports that the body of the 13-year-old girl was found inside a cave known as Ighane and located near one of the many darihs that exist in the region. On the day of her disappearance, Ibtissam had left her home accompanied by one of her friends, heading to the weekly market held in the center of Foum Zguid. She never returned. It is her body that will be found nearly a month later in a cave, by the inhabitants of the Taourirt Ntilass douar.
Informed, the authorities came to the scene to take the necessary measures. The scientific police also moved to collect evidence and try to shed light on the parents on the causes of this tragedy. Nevertheless, the search on the day of the disappearance had already led the inhabitants towards this cave. It is possible that the body was thrown there shortly before the discovery, since the authorities had received instructions on Wednesday to start inspecting all the houses in the Douar, whether inhabited or abandoned.
Seized with fear, the murderer may have hastily disposed of the body. The police are working to uncover what really happened.
