The body of Raiss El Hajj Mehdi Ben Mbark, a great Amazigh singer, was found lifeless on Friday after 12 days of disappearance.
Ben Mbark had left his home on March 4 to go to the mosque, but never returned. His family had reported his disappearance and launched an appeal for help on social media.
The search was conducted by local authorities, security forces and civil protection. The body was discovered near the Al Ghofrane cemetery in Casablanca.
The cause of death has not yet been determined, but it is likely that the chronic illnesses the singer suffered from played a role.
